What are we looking for?
As a Product Owner (PO), you are a real entrepreneur, whose job is to create as much business value for your customers as possible. You are acting like a mini-CEO for your product, strategically driving your product roadmap to deliver innovation and a best in-class customer experience.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Vision

• You are responsible for the product vision and to convey this vision to the scrum team and the broader organization.
• You ensure the team maintains a cohesive vision despite the flexible and fast-paced nature of agile product development.


Value maximization

• You are a value maximizer who makes strategic decisions on a daily basis to meet your customer’s needs and maximize business outcomes.
• Juggling the triangle of scope, budget and time, you manage your backlog autonomously and strategically, ensuring the most valuables features, functionalities and items are prioritized.


Ensuring a Customer Centric approach
• You are the voice of the customer in the scrum team.
• You are passionate about delivering market leading customer experiences.

A key player in the scrum team

• You spend a significant amount of time overseeing the actual development of the product and working closely with your scrum team.
• You are a key player throughout each event, including planning, grooming, daily scrums, sprint reviews and retrospective.
• You provide the scrum team with a clear understanding of business benefits and through collaboration; you ensure you have a full buy-in on your approach.

A Strategic backlog manager

• You define and prioritize the Epics, Themes and Features in your backlog.
• You also know how to slice epics and user stories that are granular enough to complete in a single sprint and how to prioritize them to maximize early value creation.
• You define acceptance criteria that are clear and testable.
• You set up and monitor key metrics to track and forecast progress on features.
• You like innovation while minimizing risks: prototypes, beta versions and pilots are amongst the tools you like using when it comes to new features development.

An expert communicator
• You are the primary communicator and link between stakeholders and teams. As such, you are an expert communicator and thrive at stakeholder management, making sure there is buy-in from stakeholders and scrum team on all major decisions and strategy.
• You provide clear instructions and deliverables for the developers.
A dynamic team player with great influencing skills
• Your energy and positive mindset is contagious.
• You are a dynamic team player who fosters collaboration.
• You thrive at « getting people on board » and getting them excited about your ideas.
• You know your product well and you are seen as the “go to” person for any questions related to your product.
A quick decision maker

• You have strong analytical skills and can make decisions quickly despite context switching or multi-tasking.
• You have the courage to challenge the status quo and to say ‘No” when required.
• You listen well, are open-minded and respect other opinions, but you are decisive and confident.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent business experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a product owner in a software environment with Agile/Scrum development
Competencies that are considered assets
• Certified Product Owner (CSPO, PSPO I)
• Experience as a software Developer
