Job purpose:

The Network Owner is responsible keeping our customers’ networks up to date and running smoothly. They are the primary resource in leading efficient resolution of major incidents and problems. They are networking experts with proven experience in managing both wired and wireless technology and use that knowledge to proactively propose improvements to the network that help our customers increase their ability to meet their business needs. They act as subject matter experts in assisting our Network Operations Center team with Incident and problems as well as providing customer insight to our Customer Success team.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
Enhances our ability to maintain the network by constantly evaluating event monitoring opportunities and tweaking thresholding triggers to better proactively identify potential service degradations/interruptions.
Effectively targets communication of potential improvements to varied recipients, such as the Datavalet Sales Team, Customer Success Team, and our customer’s technical and operational resources.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Employment Requirements:

Completion of a 3-year degree/diploma in computer science or relevant experience in this field is required.
Completed and current Certified Wireless Analysis Professional (CWAP) (or equivalent) certification is required.
Completed and current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) (or equivalent) certification is required.
5 years of professional experience as a Network Administrator, with proven experience with Wi-Fi technology.
Strong problem solving and time management skills – capable of juggling multiple priorities
Very high degree of written and oral proficiency required to bridging the gap between diverse groups of people. Bilingualism an asset.
